Consuelo came to JCU from the Universidad Nacional de San Antonio Abad del Cusco in Peru. She joined the lab in 2017 to work on a project using niche models to test whether climate stability since the last interglacial period is associated with high species richness in the snake clade Pseudoboini. Consuelo is currently writing up her thesis while working at the Alliance for a Sustainable Amazon in Peru.
