Heydee assisted with several projects in Colombia, and conducted her undergraduate honors thesis at the Universidad de los Llanos in Villavicencio, where she was co-advised by Hernán Jiménez García. Heydee found that individual Prisimantis medemi frogs show seasonal variation in high and low temperature tolerance in the piedmont region of the Eastern Cordillera in Colombia.
