Osmary came to JCU in 2018 after receiving her BS at the Universidad de Puerto Rico and working on several field projects studing salamanders. She did her MS fieldwork in Colombia, finding evidence consistent with thermally-mediated population declines of a Bolitglossa salamander in the Eastern Cordillera of the Andes. Osmary continued her work on thermal biology as part of her PhD work at Case Western Reserve University. She graduated from Case in 2025 and is currently a postdoc at the University of Tennessee
